This walks through the whole setup once, with the defaults. Every step has its own guide if you want the details.
Before you start
- A MikroTik router with internet access and a PPPoE server or hotspot you want to use.
- Terminal access to that router (Winbox → New Terminal, WebFig, or SSH).
- RouterOS 7 if you can. RouterOS 6 works, but the tunnel is slower and the NAS costs more.
Steps
- 1Create an account and claim your welcome credit
Sign up, then open Billing and claim the welcome credit (1.000.000 credits, valid for 30 days). Claim it when you are ready to set up, since the 30 days start then.
- 2Create a workspace
On Workspaces, create one and give it a name. Check the time zone in the workspace Settings: expiry dates and monthly renewals are counted in it.
- 3Add your router as a NAS
In the workspace, open NAS → add a NAS, pick WireGuard for RouterOS 7, and copy the install command. Paste it into the router's terminal. The NAS turns online within a minute. Details: Connect a router.
- 4Create a plan
Open Plans and create one, for example "Home 20 Mbps" with 20 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up. Leave the limits unlimited for now. Details: Plans.
- 5Add a subscriber
Open Subscribers and add one with a username, a password and your new plan. Choose the login type that matches your router: PPPoE, Hotspot or both.
- 6Log in
Connect a client to your PPPoE server or hotspot with that username and password.
Check it works
The login appears under Live Sessions within a few seconds, and the subscriber shows as online. If it does not, see Troubleshooting: the most common causes are a typo in the password, a login type that does not match, or the NAS not being online yet.
